O Aphrodite, Queen of Heaven

art by pulpmetal

O Aphrodite, Queen of Heaven,

Who fills mortal hearts with flaming passions,

driving mortals into the arms of another,

whether with sharp knives or flaming loins.

Under your eyes, violence rages and

tenderness blooms. Your morning star

guides the lost and shines in every heart,

and your evening star lets mortals

mourn what they have lost. Strong

and Wrathful, Lord and Lady, She who

calls the attention of Gods and mortals alike,

who tremble before you when under

the gaze of your star-studded brow.

When the sky made love to the earth,

You bound them in sacred marriage.

You left from the Great Sky into the

underworld for sweet Adonis and

came back again, for you

have power over life and death.

Please, Goddess, hear my plea

I want to fall in love again,

Not with mortal men but with life itself,

Protect my broken heart, and

Give me strength to survive the pain,

So that I may live to see my dreams.

Let me open my tired eyes to see the path,

And gaze upon the vast beauty ahead

Sunset rays against my face,

As I carry the past for a brand-new start.

I love you all. I’m sorry for not being here. I’m trying to be okay again.
